Sorcerer's Screed
Card game, 2.5x4.5 in

Card game based on the book “Sorcerer’s Screed”. The book is a collection of Icelandic magic staves. With this project I aimed to redesign the book in a different form and experience. The end result is a card game that pairs these ancient symbols with modern emojis, that are to be used to make players guess what the magic stave effect is.

Emoji tokens

This game is played in teams. One player at the time from each team draws a card, reads the effect of the magic stave, and then places the card on the table with its back up. The player, then, has a limited amout of time to have their teammate guess the effect of the stave, by placing, moving, stacking, and making the tokens interact on the back of the card, as if to “cast“ a spell with the emojis.

A system of points is listed on each card and at the end of then turn, the players decide how close the guess was and how many points to award to the team. The team with most points at the end of the game wins.
